Village chief lodges report over ‘mafia’ article

IPOH: A Kuala Sepetang village chief has lodged a police report against a Malay daily over its news article that Kuala Sepetang was being overrun by ‘mafia’ groups.

Acting police chief Deputy Comm Datuk A. Paramasivam said the police have received the report earlier this week as the village chief felt that the news article was baseless and would have a negative effect on the economy in the small fishing town.
