BANGI: Seven years may have passed but for national astronaut Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, the journey into space and the experience of being inside the International Space Station (ISS) still feels like “it was just yesterday”.

The orthopaedic surgeon-turned-astronaut said he dreamt of becoming an astronaut since the age of 10 and although it took 25 years to realise his ambition, he thanked his “lucky stars” for the opportunity.
