2,000 people evacuated following landslide in Bukit Beruntung

PETALING JAYA: Approximately 2,000 residents of Teratai Apartment in Taman Bunga Raya, Bukit Beruntung were instructed to evacuate their homes following a landslide, Monday morning.

Kuala Kubu Baru Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Azhar Tajudin said the landslide occurred next to Block F of the Teratai Apartment.

Azhar said 12 personnel were dispatched to the scene after the department received a distress call at 10.44am.

Residents were evacuated to temporary relocation centres at three nearby schools.

Fire and Rescue personnel are still monitoring the situation at the five-storey apartment.
