PETALING JAYA: A group, which includes former Inspector-General of Police Tun Haniff Omar and former Commissioner of Police Datuk Othman Talib, has issued a statement rejecting calls for the repeal of the Sedition Act and criticising the Malaysian Bar Council’s stand against the Act.
In a joint press statement on Friday, the 20 signatories questioned the actions of the Bar Council in passing its memorandum to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, and further condemned the council's “Walk for Peace and Freedom”, held on Thursday.
