No enactment on PPS, so it is illegal, Ahmad Zahid tells Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: The Penang Voluntary Patrol Unit (PPS) is not a body formed under an Act passed by Parliament, thus it is illegal, Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Thursday

Dr Ahmad Zahid said PPS was not brought to the Dewan Rakyat under any specific Act, unlike other bodies such as the People's Volunteer Corps (Rela), which was set up under the Malaysia Volunteers Corps Act 2012.
