KUALA LUMPUR: For ignoring a Health Ministry directive to close its premises for being an Aedes breeding ground, a construction company is paying the price – to the tune of RM35,000, which includes a RM500 daily fine for continuing to defy the order.

Magistrate Zura Syazween Amizan fined Maran Econ Build Sdn Bhd RM8,500 for failing to follow a directive to close its premises that was issued by senior environmental health assistant officer Mohd Asri Muda on Aug 23, this year.
