IAEA visit to Lynas plant meaningless, claim reps

KUANTAN: Two Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen have hit out at the International Trade and Industry Ministry over a planned visit by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the Lynas rare earth refinery next week, calling it a meaningless exercise.

Teruntum PKR assemblyman Sim Chon Siang and PAS’ Beserah assemblyman Andansura Rabu, who were both invited to a discussion session on Tuesday with the IAEA following its visit, said there was no point at all as Lynas had already received its full operating stage licence.
