THE Government has reiterated its condemnation of Islamic State (IS) and urged Malaysians not to be influenced by extremist movements.
Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin said Malaysia’s stand on the matter in the United Nations was clear, stressing that the country was against all forms of violence.
“All solutions must be reached via moderate approaches. Within our country, we also do not want to see anything that can divide our people. If there should be any kind of disagreement, it should not be of the extremist kind like IS,” he said when answering a question by Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (PAS-Marang).
Abdul Hadi had wanted the Government to state its stance on the formation of the new government in the region under the control of IS as declared on June 29.
