KUALA LUMPUR: MCA's Education Consultative Committee will seek views of academics over discrepancies in the Year Four Chinese language History textbook.

MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said a committee had been formed to get feedback and views.

He said the textbook did not reflect the multiracial nature of the country and the concerns had been submitted earlier to the Education Ministry.

"I have a long list of discrepancies and controversies as well. There's a need to verify certain facts in the textbook," he told a press conference at Wisma MCA.

On the Year Five History textbooks to be introduced next year, Dr Wee said experts would also be invited to share their views on the syllabus.

He said Chinese education stakeholders had called for a roundtable meeting on the issue with the ministry.

"They want the meeting to be held soon so they can voice their grievances and problems," he said.
