PETALING JAYA: Perak MCA liaison committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon has hit out at Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming for allegedly posting a racist image on his Facebook page.

Mah pointed out that Nga’s recent posting of an image depicting a dark-skinned individual smiling broadly with the words Ka Ka Ka ... Minyak hitam tarak naik (black oil price did not increase) was not the first time he had allegedly practised racism.

“One cannot forget that it was Nga who described Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir as a metallic black ba****d.

“For a public figure who is not only a lawmaker at both the federal and state levels, but is himself a trained and practising lawyer, one would have expected Nga to be imbued with a wee bit of general knowledge on racism and bigotry,” Mah said in a statement on Friday.

Mah also lashed out at Nga’s subsequent removal of the post, labelling it “insincere” as the DAP lawmaker labelled those who criticised him as not having a sense of humour.

“This is Nga’s stubborn attempt at justifying racial profiling and stereotypes. Thus all of DAP’s purported call of fighting for a non-racial Malaysia is pure hypocrisy,” added Mah, who is also an executive councillor in the state administration.

Nga had drawn flak for the image he had posted on Facebook on Thursday in reaction to the hike in fuel prices, with netizens criticising him in the comments section.

The Taiping MP also appeared "unrepentant" when he posted a note later, stating that those who could not take the joke lacked a sense of humour.
