BEIJING: The issue of corruption has become the mainstay of the local media since party leaders at the 18th national congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) last year decided the problem needed to be brought into focus following several high-profile cases.
Zhao Yunze, deputy department head of journalism and communication at the Renmin University of China, said CPC leaders understood that unless this problem was tackled head-on, it would affect the credibility of the Government and might derail economic development programmes for the people.
