KUALA LUMPUR: It has been 15 years since the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) Act was gazetted by Parliament on Sept 9, 1999, but its chairman Tan Sri Hasmy Agam said they still have much to do in relation to human rights in the country.
He said that Suhakam, which held its inaugural meeting on April 24, 2000, was still considered a "child" in that regard, and hoped that Malaysia would grow faster in the realm of human rights.
