PETALING JAYA: Academicians continue to voice support for their counterpart Assoc Prof Dr Azmi Sharom, stressing that it is wrong to criminalise thoughts and public speeches that do not promote violence or hate.
“Charging Azmi over his informed views reveals a lack of respect for the universal principles of academic freedom,” said a press statement which had 300 signatures representing academicians and concerned people from across the nation and even as far as Washington and London.
