PETALING JAYA: For Cheong Mee Leng, it was indeed meaningful to win one of the special Merdeka prizes in The Star’s Win with Words contest. She turned 57 in January in the year the country celebrates its 57th independence day.

Moreover, the competition, which ran over four fortnightly series from June 23 to Aug 17, was organised by the newspaper – in partnership with Hong Leong Bank and Nasim Sdn Bhd – to thank its readers in conjunction with this year’s National Day.
