DATIN Priya Vijendran, 69, was a doting grandmother. In fact, she was in the Netherlands to spend time with her two grandchildren – seven-year-old Chiara and nine-year-old Leo, the children of her second son Sanjay – in Lieden, Amsterdam.

And while she was there, she taught the children how to make chapati, samosa, and poori and even taught them yoga.
