MANY electrical items Malaysian consumers use might appear to be well-known brands with Sirim and the Energy Commission approval logos but they could pose a danger to users due to poor quality.
Harian Metro reported that the Commission found from its series of operations together with Sirim and the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry that 15% of the electrical products in the market were of poor quality and some of the brands from China were changed to more trusted names to avoid checks.
