Call for entry fee on foreign vehicles at Causeway

JOHOR BARU: Business associations here believe it is better for the Government to implement an entry fee for foreign vehicles coming into Johor via the Causeway, instead of hiking the toll for all.

In a statement, the Johor Baru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCCI), the Johor Baru Traders Association, the Johor Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (DPMM), and the Johor Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DPPIJ) called on the Government to implement something similar to Singapore’s Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) – a fee levied when Malaysian cars enter Singapore from 2am to 5pm on weekdays.
