PETALING JAYA: PAS’ influential Dewan Ulama has thrown its support behind Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim to remain as Selangor Mentri Besar, placing another obstacle in the path of PKR, which wants to replace him with Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
The endorsement of Khalid by the party’s body of religious leaders echoed the stand made by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, who had also called on Khalid to stay on as mentri besar until the end of his term.
