No way for accused in NZ sexual assault to be tried here, say lawyers

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has no option but to try the diplomat involved in attempted burglary and sexual assault in New Zealand where the offences occurred, said senior lawyers.

This is because under the Extra-territorial Offences Act 1976, the offences committed by the officer does not apply in this case to warrant him to be tried in a Malaysian court.
