MIRI: The culprits behind the attack on a Singapore-registered oil tanker in the South China Sea 78 nautical miles offshore Bintulu on Saturday are believed to be local robbers, and not foreign pirates.
Police are investigating this possibility even as the maritime authorities investigate this case from the Maritime Centre in Labuan.
