AS the Supreme Head of the Federation of Malaysia, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is a constitutional monarch and acts in accordance with the advice of the Cabinet or of a minister acting under the general authority of the Cabinet.

Under Malaysia’s parliamentary democracy system, the King is the formal head of the Executive. His Majesty appoints the Prime Minister, ministers and deputy ministers. He commissions Malaysian ambassadors and high commissioners for their duties abroad.
