KOTA BARU: A police sergeant was sentenced to 15 years' jail and ordered to receive eight strokes of the cane for raping a 14-year-old minor, five years ago.
Mahmad Abidin, 57, who was also a former police station chief was found guilty by Sessions Court Judge Mohd Yusoff Yunos, who held that the prosecution had succeeded in proving its case beyond reasonable doubt.
