Suspected thief threatens to jump off building to avoid arrest

KOTA KINABALU: A suspected thief’s ploy to jump off a building to avoid arrest triggered a 15-minute standoff but ended with him walking into the arms of the waiting police.

The 29-year-old cyber café worker from Lahad Datu fled to the top floor of a four-storey apartment when police caught him red-handed at an apartment he had broken into.
