KOTA KINABALU: A total of 1, 296 people believed to be illegal immigrants from the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZONE) have been detained in the 17 Ops Gasak operations since November last year.
Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) Operation director Datuk Abdul Rashid Harun said these detainees were among the 3,323 people screened.
