KUANTAN: A man died after a hit-and-run incident at Kilometre 129, Kuantan-Seremban Road, near Keratong, Rompin Friday night.

Rompin OCPD, DSP Johari Jahaya said that in the incident at 10.20pm, the victim, whose identity had yet to be ascertained, died at the scene due to severe injuries.

He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the victim did not have any personal document and was walking alone on the five-foot-way on the left side of the road.

"The victim was believed to have been hit by a heavy vehicle from the rear and it was possible that the driver (of the vehicle) could not see the victim as the area was dark without any street lights," he told Bernama on Saturday. - Bernama
