PETALING JAYA: The illegal salvage operators who have been literally ripping off shipwrecks around the country may have caused far greater damage than initially thought.
Besides the merchant vessels that they have been salvaging, they are believed to have looted metal parts from the sunken Dutch submarine, HNMS O-16, that went down off Pulau Tioman, Pahang, in 1941.
