Abu Backer leaps in front of CM’s car

GEORGE TOWN: A Bukit Gelugor by-election independent candidate flung himself in front of the chief minister’s car and “fainted” as he tried to stop Lim Guan Eng from leaving the Penang State Assembly after the sitting.

Abu Backer Sidek Mohamad Zan, 46, “collapsed” when he broke through the police barricade around the car at about 2pm and refused to get up. He had to be taken away in an ambulance after complaining of pain on his side half an hour later.
