'Empty nest' parents need aid


KUALA LUMPUR: The National Population and Family Dev­elopment Board (LPPKN) wants to recruit more than 5,000 volunteers in order to cope with the increasing number of parents who are going through “empty nest syndrome”.

Women, Family and Community Development minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said there were 178,000 parents who were experiencing the syndrome.
