KUALA LUMPUR: Wanita MCA lodged a police report on the move by PAS to table a Private Member's Bill in Parliament on hudud and the implementation of the Islamic law in Kelantan.

Its secretary-general, Ooi Siew Kim, said the bill would jeopardise social harmony between the various races and religion and subsequently threaten peace.

"The PAS move has raised fear and anxiety among the people especially the women folks," she told reporters after lodging the report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters at about 4pm.

She said the report was made to defend the Federal Constitution which guaranteed the fundamental rights of the people of various races in the country and to maintain solidarity and public peace. - Bernama
