SUBANG: A Government will meet on Monday (May 12) to discuss feedback from concessionaires regarding the restructuring of toll rates, said Works Minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof.

“We will be presenting the feedback from the concessionaires following our discussions with them.

“We will have a meeting on May 12 with (Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department) Datuk Seri Wahid Omar, who is in charge of the Economic Planning Unit, Ukas (the Public-Private Partnership Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department), the Ministry of Finance and the relevant ministries to discuss the concessionaire's feedback,” he told reporters.

Fadillah was commenting on the issue of restructuring toll rates to ease public burden.

The Government had prevented a hike in toll rates this year to ease the high cost of living.

However, they had to pay concessionaires RM400mil in compensation to prevent the planned  increase. The last major toll increase was in 2007.
