PETALING JAYA: A conference aimed at empowering Muslim women will be held on June 14.
The “Being ME (Muslimah Empowered) International Women’s Conference” at Putrajaya International Convention Centre will feature the theme “Darkness to Light”.
“Being ME (Muslimah Empowered) brings together thousands of women from different walks of life, countless communities, diverse goals with one purpose – empowerment,” said Mercy Mission Malaysia national manager Sajid Hussain in a statement.
The international women’s conference aims to highlight issues and challenges faced by Muslim women and instil a sense of empowerment in them. It will feature speakers such as writer and psychologist Haleh Banani, Seeds of Change Muslim Women’s director Fatima Barkatullah and Muslim convert Yusha Evans.
There will also be a bazaar and a Muslimah attire show directed by Malaysian singer Mizz Nina, among others.
Tickets are priced at RM130 for adults and RM75 for children aged between five and 12. Participants will receive one free ticket with every 10 purchased.
