KOTA KINABALU: An annual ritual called Monolob (to swallow in Kadazandusun), meant to appease the spirits of Mount Kinabalu, was among the highlights of the Aki Nabalu show held in conjunction with the 20th Sabah Festival here.
Monolob, which honours an ancient tradition requiring the sacrifice of seven fowls to precede the seven climbs of the mountain, was shown by a series of abstract dances.
