PCA will not be used for May 1 rally

KUALA LUMPUR: Police will not use the Prevention of Crime Act (PCA) on organisers and those taking part in the May 1 rally as existing laws, including the Peaceful Assembly Act (PAA) was sufficient, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

He said the PAA along with the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) would be adequate should any need to be taken on the rally planned to protest the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) next April.
