Bribery charge against two Land Office staff


JOHOR BARU: A senior officer and a low-ranking personnel from the Kota Tinggi Land Office were charged with accepting cheques amounting to RM69,000 from a company director as an inducement to be granted a project.

Rahmat Abdullah, 51, who was the then Kota Tinggi assistant deputy land officer, pleaded not guilty to accepting a RM5,000 cheque from one Rizam Sahar of Saujana Serangkai Sdn Bhd at a fast food chain outlet in Kulaijaya on July 12, 2010.
