Anwar backs out of contest


PETALING JAYA: Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has dropped out of the PKR presidential race, leaving wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to be returned unopposed to head the party.

He sent his letter on Saturday to withdraw from the contest, which was read out by PKR election director Datuk Johari Abdul at a press conference here yesterday.
