Barisan maintains victory for two Perak state seats, PAS' suits struck out

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) maintained its victory for two Perak state seats - Manong and Rungkup - after the High Court here on Thursday struck out two suits by PAS candidates seeking to disqualify the BN seats.

The suits were filed by Jamil Dzulkarnain and Mohd Misbahul Munir Masduki of PAS, on grounds that BN assemblymen Mohamed Kamil Shafie (Manong) and Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya (Rungkup) were not residents when they contested in the 13th General Election last year.
