D-G: MILF deal good for Esszone


KOTA KINABALU: Hopes are high that the comprehensive peace deal between Manila and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) will have a positive spillover effect on the security of Sabah’s eastern sea borders with southern Philippines.

Eastern Sabah Security Comm­­­and (Esscom) director general Datuk Mohammad Mentek (pic) said that the deal, which is aimed at bringing peace, development and progress to the Bangsamoro people of southern Philippines augured well for peace and security in Sabah’s Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone).
