PKR polls: 16-way fight for three elected veep posts

PETALING JAYA: It is a crowded race for PKR vice-presidency contest as 16 party leaders have confirmed their candidacy on Saturday to snap up the three elected slots.

PKR election committee director Datuk Johari Abdul said that the candidates are the incumbents Nurul Izzah Anwar (Lembah Pantai MP), Fuziah Salleh (Kuantan MP), Tian Chua (Batu MP) and N Surendran (Padang Serai MP).

Chua is also contesting the deputy president post.

The rest are Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian, Penang PKR chief Dr Mansor Othman, Perak PKR chief Mustaffa Kamil Ayub, Bukit Lanjan assemblywoman Elizabeth Wong, PKR chief strategist Rafizi Ramli and supreme council member Yahya Sahri.

Others include former Kajang assemblyman Lee Chin Cheh, Sri Andalas assemblyman Dr Xavier Jayakumar, former Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, Dr Shanmugam and Dr Sreetharan.

There are 78 contesting for 20 supreme council seats.
