Ministry plans to expand CAPD treatment


THE Health Ministry is looking into further expanding the Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) treatment for patients diagnosed with end-stage renal disease.

In a written reply to R. Sivarasa (PKR-Subang), Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said this form of treatment differred from the regular haemodialysis treatments as the CAPD could be carried out in the homes of the patients.
