JOHOR BARU: Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has rubbished reports that 40 officials from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) are being investigated over the disappearance of MH370.

Dr Ahmad Zahid said the officials were only being questioned by the police in the course of their investigation.

“The police want to see if they can get any additional information from the DCA officials and they are not being investigated,” he said after conducting a visit to the Seri Alam district police headquarters here yesterday.

A Malay daily reported that 40 DCA officials who were on duty on the day the jetliner went missing on March 8 were under police investigations, quoting an unnamed source.

Dr Ahmad Zahid said questioning the officers was part of the standard investigation procedures carried out by the police.

“We question the DCA officials to get more information in hopes of assisting with ongoing investigations.

“I do not want the DCA to be viewed in a negative light and I hope that this clears the air pertaining to the matter,” he said.
