RM151mil for CCTV cameras in crime hotspots


SOME RM151mil has been set aside for the installation of 992 CCTV cameras in crime hotspots within 50 local councils around the country, said Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Deputy Minister Datuk Halimah Mohd Sadique.

“Under the first phase, 496 CCTV cameras were installed by 25 local councils in Peninsular Malaysia. Another 496 will be installed by 25 local councils, including those in Sabah and Sarawak, by the end of the year,” she said in reply to Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitigan (BN-Keningau).
