Water pipe burst brings traffic to a crawl

PETALING JAYA: Traffic snarled to a crawl along the Federal Highway when a 15-inch diameter water pipe burst and caused a muddy flood at the Kota Darul Ehsan arch that marks the boundary between Kuala Lumpur and Selangor here.

It was not determined when the pipe burst but Syabas corporate communications and public affairs assistant general manager Priscilla Alfred said it was likely caused by construction work at the nearby University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC).
