GEORGE TOWN: The Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge will be closed on March 16 for the 56th Merdeka Ride, a cycling event that the Penang state government is planning to hold annually.
Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd (JKSB) managing director Datuk Dr Ismail Mohamed Taib said that the 56th Merdeka Ride @ Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah is not a competition, and is held to allow participants to leisurely ride their bicycle on the longest bridge in South-East Asia.
