SEPANG: A 10-member team from China arrived here late Monday to help families of passengers of MH370 and the relevant authorities in their investigations.

Head of the team, Department of Consular Affairs deputy director Guo Shao Chun said the members were from the Department of Civil Aviation, Police, Transportation and Foreign affairs ministries.

"We are here to primarily assist the families and serve as a platform between them and the government to ensure that they feel safe and comfortable.

"In addition, we are also looking to work with the Malaysian government and the Chinese Embassy here to resolve this case," he told reporters at the KL International Airport.

Guo said the team would start work immediately and focus on issues such as the stolen passports that were used by two impostors to board the plane.

Asked if he was satisfied with the local authorities in dealing with the matter, Guo said the issue now was a matter of life and death.

"In addition to aiding in speeding up investigations, we hope our arrival here will help in strengthening the relationship among all the countries involved," he added.
