KAJANG: MCA will provide Mandarin translators for a hotline to assist the families and relatives of passengers onboard the missing MH370 flight.

Party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said he had contacted both the Department of Civil Aviation and Transport Ministry to provide community support for the passengers.

“Many of the passengers are from China and they have many relatives in Malaysia who may need help from us. We have offered to set up a hotline in MCA headquarters to assist them.

“We have a list of contacts of the families in case they need any help,” he said after launching the MCA Youth campaign machinery at the party’s main operations room here yesterday.

Malaysia Airlines, he said, was also working with Buddhist group, Compassion Relief Tzu Zhi Foundation, to provide welfare assistance to the families waiting at the airport.

“We pray for the safety of the passengers and we hope that their families remain strong through this difficult time,” he said.
