Missing MAS flight: MAS Beijing informs next-of-kin to 'expect the worse'


BEIJING: Malaysia Airlines here has notified family members of passengers on MH370 that disappeared over the South China Sea on Saturday to "expect the worse."

Firefly CEO Ignatius Ong, who is representing MAS in Beijing, said the airline would assist in flying the next-of-kin to Malaysia to wait for the latest updates.

He said the airline would assist in making the necessary arrangements, including obtaining passports and visas for them.

Each family can be represented by two members on the first available flight.

Family members with valid travelling documents could fly as early as tomorrow. They could also choose to wait in Beijing and fly to the end destination when the aircraft is located.

Ong said MAS will be continue to be transparent in communicating with the family members and the media.
