Missing MAS flight: Airport security protocols to be reviewed, says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: The security protocols for air travellers at the country’s airports will be reviewed following the discovery that two passengers aboard missing MAS flight MH370 may have boarded the plane using stolen passports.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that security protocols would be enhanced following the review if it was necessary to do so.

“We will review all security protocols and if needed we will enhance them if necessary, because we still do not know the cause of the incident,” Najib told reporters after launching the 2014 National Reconciliation Programme here, Sunday.

On a related matter the Prime Minister said that Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot‎ had offered two of the country’s PC Orion aircraft to help in the search and rescue operation.

Najib said he had accepted the offer and that the aircraft is bound to depart Australia by 6.30pm Malaysian time Sunday.
