PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim failed in his third bid to disqualify lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah from being a lead prosecutor in his sodomy case.

Court of Appeal judge Balia Yusof Wahi on Monday held that his application was an abuse of court process.

Anwar has tried to disqualify Shafee on grounds that Shafee had been fined for misconduct.

Shafee lost in his appeal to reverse a decision by the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board which fined him RM5,000 for misconduct in his professional capacity.

High Court judge Zaleha Yusof held that the court should not interfere with the decision of the Bar Council.
