Man charged with threatening to kill his father

KUALA LUMPUR: A factory operator was charged in a Magistrate's Court on Tuesday with threatening to kill his father early this month.

S. Ganesan, 28, was accused with threatening V. Subramaniam, 67, by saying, "I will kill you", while choking his father's neck.

The offence was allegedly committed at PPR Kg Muhibbah, Jalan Puchong here at about 8pm on Feb 6.

Ganesan was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum of two years' jail or a fine or both, if convicted.

He later claimed trial before magistrate Nurul 'Ain Abdul Rahim.

Deputy public prosecutor N. Joy Jothi offered no bail.

Magistrate Nurul 'Ain later fixed March 12 for mention pending appointment of a counsel and submission of documents.
