Obama is expected to visit Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines in April.

Mustapa said the government would continue to engage with the people and the various stakeholders to receive feedback and inputs on the TPP.

To date, the ministry had more than 50 engagements with various stakeholders, academics, industries and the private sector on the TPPA.

Mustapa said the interim report on the cost-benefit analysis of the TPPA would be completed within a month.

The analysis, divided into two sections, is being undertaken by the Institute of Strategic & International Studies (ISIS) and the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju) in the Prime Minister's Department.

"They will be coming up with the interim report. There are many challenges (in the TPP negotiations), and in anything we do, we will base on cost-benefit analysis," he said.

The cost and benefit analysis on the impact of Bumiputra and small and medium enterprises are being supervised by Teraju while ISIS has conducted a study on national interest.

The TPP Ministers will meet for the eighth TPP ministerial meeting in Singapore from Saturday until Tuesday. - Bernama
